February 2007 - Brenda's Visit

Jon was in Japan for 2 weeks and for one of those weeks, Brenda came to keep me company! At one time she was living in Toronto and I went to visit her. Now it was her turn to come be my guest. It was just the 2 of us and we had so much fun. Here are just a few pics from our fun time together.

Little did I know that Brenda was trying to make it look like I was happy to be close to the cute turtle volunteer!! That's NOT why I'm smiling!

Out to dinner at John Dominis, you can see Diamond Head on the right. It's fun to go early and watch the surfers, as we're right next to the water.
Me in front of my favorite hotel, the Moana Surfrider. Built in 1901, it is Ohau's oldest hotel.
Here we are making more friends! We are at the luau at the Hale Koa.

Feb - Kathleen & Charlie's Visit

Aloha to Kathleen and Charlie!! Sorry the picture is sideways! They have come the farthest, from New Jersey! It was February, so really enjoyed the warmer weather, except for the occasional rain! " (Are you open for lunch? Is it raining there?")Kathleen with her daddy, at Hanauma Bay. They went snorkeling and also scuba diving!

The hike up after snorkeling. They have a little bus, but we always walk.
Kathleen and I took a sunrise walk at Makapu'u. It was a beautiful view. This is where I saw a huge bunch of pencil cactus. A big piece had broken off and was on the ground, Kathleen dragged it back for me (about 1/5 miles). It is happy here at my house!


Luau at Paradise Cove! Was pretty because it was right on the water. We made lei bracelets and Charlie got a tattoo!

Another shrimp truck at the North Shore.
Another morning Kathleen and I hike Manoa Falls. It was a beautiful walk with a beautiful waterfall at the end.
Last day at Waikiki Beach. We had a wonderful time!
