Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a memorable Thanksgiving. We had our shipment from San Antonio delivered! These were all the things that have been in storage for 2 1/2 years. And although we hadn't needed any of these things in the last 2 1/2 years, we certainly now need some of those long sleeve shirts and jackets!! In addition to the winter clothes, we also got the formal living and dining room furniture. It was a little like Christmas, seeing these things again!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

My Own Set of Wheels

Yesterday they called to tell us that my car had arrived from Hawaii! So we picked it up today - it was in Atlanta, a 2-hour drive, but when you factor in lunch and not knowing where we were going, it took the whole day. On the drive back, they called to tell Jon that our San Antonio shipment (things that have been in storage for the last 2 1/2 years) is on its way and could they deliver on Thanksgiving Day! So this will be a memorable Thanksgiving! We won't be able to move in yet, but will be great to get started on the move. And it sure feels good to have my own set of wheels, even if I don't have any place to go yet!!

Baby It's Cold Outside

No longer am I singing the song "Where I Live There are Rainbows", now it is "Baby It's Cold Outside"! Augusta has been having unusually cold weather, 15 degrees below normal for this time of year. Of course that would occur while we are in the little duplex with the very few cold weather clothes we have! Wednesday night it was 22 - a record. At least the days are beautiful and as long as the wind isn't blowing is fine. The only problem is sweet Sam, who just loves this weather and does not have a fenced in yard yet. So I have to take him out in the morning and always sing that little song. At least I can put on Jon's jacket over my little hoodie, which isn't much help. Jon says it will warm up, but see that another cold front is coming this weekend!! BRRRRR!

Waiting

We are in Georgia, staying on post in a duplex until we move in. It is very convenient living on post, but it is a little boring! So last weekend we drove to North Carolina to check out the furniture malls. We ended up buying a few things that we've been needing. The weather was beautiful and the fall colors were still out, making it a nice getaway. We picked up our car on Tuesday, so that's good. Now we are waiting. . . . for the other car, and for our 5 shipments of furniture! Two from Hawaii, one from San Antonio, and two from North Carolina. We found out this week that the big shipment from Hawaii is already here and they wanted to deliver next week! Unforunately the house is not available yet, so they are delivering on December 3. Now we wait. I am able to work, so that makes a big difference, in a lot of ways!

Today Jon will watch the UT game and we have rented the series The Tudors, which we can watch over the next week. We miss our HD TV!!

Update from Sam: he loves it here! Loves, loves the colder weather! And once we move in, he will again have a fenced in back yard!

Last pictures from Texas

I am very behind in my blogging! We arrived in Georgia on Monday. We searched for a home to rent on Tuesday and Wednesday and found one! We will move December 1, if not before. Here are a few pictures from our time in Texas.

We went to San Antonio for one night, this is the cool hotel we stayed at, Hotel Valencia, through hotwire.com. It was awesome! We played tourist in SA, and had a great time.

The Alamo!

2 Elaine's and 2 Cindy's ~

A group photo of my kids! We went out to dinner to celebrate Eric's and Scott's birthdays ~

We had to take a picture of this, since before Jon left Hawaii, he paid $3.49 for gas!
