NASA & soccer

One day we went to NASA Space Center, I hadn't been in more years than I care to remember! It had changed quite a bit. It was interesting for the kids, even though when I asked Chase if he wanted to be an astronaut, he informed me that he'd already been to Mars - twice! That must have been through Disney World rather than NASA!

While he's away

Here's a picture of Jon in Iraq, holding a Quickie broom. Kathleen, his daughter, works for Quickie, so he thought it would make a great photo-op.
I volunteer for the FRG, Family Readiness Group, which support spouses of service members. This was a beautiful day in October, and the event was Boy Scout event called Jimmy Dyess Days, held on post. Two boys on the left are sons of my friend here. They are twins, and are so adorable. Think they are standing on top of something.
Me and Stephanie, with one of her boys, selling t-shirts and water, etc. Yes, we love orange, we're modeling the t-shirts we're selling, and the booth was orange, orange orange everywhere! We're still selling the shirts if you want one!

Atlanta in August

I had no idea it had been months since I updated my blog! This was our last trip before deployment. We spent a little time in Atlanta with Kathleen and Charlie. We hadn't been to Atlanta before. We went to the Coke Museum and to the Aquarium. The aquarium was fabulous.
Jon now has a blog of his own. You can access it under my friends blogs.

Savannah

We spent a couple of days in Savannah on the way back from Disney World. What a good idea that was, a nice transition! Loved Savannah! We didn't do much, took a trolley tour and just enjoyed this pretty town. (and slept for 12 hours the first night!)

Loved this fountain, there are 2 others, one in France. . . . . . forgot where the other one was. . .

If you read "The Book" you know what this is. Taken at a restaurant from the movie. They refer to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, as "the Book"

Factor's Walk, shops and restaurants. The water is on the other side.

Sci-Fi Diner where we celebrated Chase's 6th birthday. It was supposed to be a drive-in movie - it was too cute!

Chase loved having Scott, (Uncle Dude) around, because he carried him - alot!

2 trips to Charleston

Trip #1 - this trip we enjoyed being tourists. Took in the sights and ate some good food! Trip #2 we visited friends that live there and went to the Spoleta Festival. Went to 2 different performances, one jazz and one a performance artist, both were great. We had a wonderful time both times!

Jon at the market ~
Cypress Gardens - we went on a small boat tour, it was beautiful. There were alligators, but they didn't bother us!

A Little Day Trip

Last weekend I was just dying to get away and see something, so we drove to the little town of Washington, established in 1790 and (the first town in the US named after George). Cute little town.
Then toured Calloway Plantation. This was a very interesting tour, most of the furnishings were original and had all the original buildings on site.

This was the family's first house, which on the inside was like Little House on the Prairie, with a small loft ~This was their second house, which was really pretty nice ~
The family's cotton businesss prospered & they built this house ~
Today there is an airport, right across the street!
These pictures were taken in Augusta. The dogwoods were beautiful!
