Today we drove the windy, multi- one-lane bridged road. The 34 mile drive to Hana took us 3 hours. We drove it last year and wanted to go back, but go beyond Hana. The road used to loop all the way around to the interior of the island but due to the earthquake on the Big Island (you can see the Big Island from here) in October of 2006, damage was done to the road and it still not open yet. (things don't move quickly in Hawaii) So, we drove to Hana, drove 13 miles past, then had to turn around and backtrack to get back home. But it was a great day. We got a really early start, left at 6:37 at mile marker "0" and at 4:30 we were back.
One of many waterfalls, this one is called Three Bears ~
We beat most of the traffic on the way out, we were now past Hana and hardly anyone was on the road. We're standing on the bridge for this shot of another beautiful waterfall ~

This is taken at Maui's black beach. Too bad no time for a swim!

This is one shot along the way. You can see where we'd come from and in between us and that picture a hairpin turn with a one-lane bridge, usually including a waterfall. There were about 60 one-lane bridges.
Since there was no visibility, you just had to honk your horn and go (and hope no one was coming!)
Behind this church is buried Charles Lindbergh. He moved here about 6 years before he died.

WOW! Gorgeous!
You need to frame the pic or you and Jon in front of where Lindbergh was buried. Great photo!
The guy we asked had a really good camera, so thought he'd do a good job!
